Printable STL FAQs

Knuckleduster is excited to begin offering STLs of select models for you to print at home. This is something completely new for us, so it's worth going over a few things.

BENEFITS OF HOME PRINTING

Why would you want to print at home?

-Cheaply produce duplicates of things like troops, animals and terrain for your tabletop.
-No postage and immediate fulfillment!
-Prints you make with a decent, modern resin printer are way crisper and cleaner than castings. For all practical purposes you're getting a master.

HOW TO BUY STLs

Select STL products from their shopping cart entries just as you would physical models. After checking out, all of the STLs you bought will be available for you to download.

WHAT COMES WITH THE FILES?

For each model, you receive a zip file that includes supported and unsupported versions of the model, the user agreement, and a README file. Figures come with a blank base that is the same dimensions as the 25mm Gunfighter's Ball slotta bases (but no need for slots).

 Models come with GB-sized bases

WILL ALL OF KNUCKLEDUSTER'S MODELS BE OFFERED AS STLs EVENTUALLY?

No. Only select products will be sold for home printing.

EQUIPMENT

We recommend at least a 4K resin printer; the brand is up to you. We tested our prints on an 8k Phrozen using TGM-7 resin, which gives you durability and high detail.

SUPPORTS

Supports are the sprue-like systems that make figures printable. Our figures come in supported and unsupported versions. Our method is to use a large number of fine supports rather than a limited number of heavy supports so that they pop off the figure with minimal scarring of the surface. If they don't work on your printer or with your resin, a technically sound unsupported version of each model is provided so you can build the supports to your specs. We aren't able to provide technical support to help you print them with the huge variety of printers, resins, and other variables at play.

LEGAL STUFF

By downloading our STLs, you are bound by the End User License Agreement.

YOU MAY print figures for your own use
YOU MAY resize and print figures for your own use
YOU MAY NOT use the files or prints for profit or share them with other people in any way.
YOU MAY NOT sell painted or unpainted duplicates.
YOU MAY NOT modify them and sell the modded files.
YOU MAY NOT share the files with anyone in any way.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF I BREAK THE RULES?

As with any breach of contract legal action is a very real possibility, especially if what you've done is especially flagrant and damaging to us.
I'd like you to consider something else, however. Wild West miniatures are a tiny market and Knuckleduster is a tiny business that can't easily absorb losses due to theft of IP or piracy. Sharing a file here or there or printing up a batch of stuff to sell may seem innocent enough, but you'll absolutely put us out of business doing that and there will be no more Knuckleduster figures. To protect our business, evidence of widespread file sharing or piracy will cause us to stop selling STLs.
I ask the community to be vigilant and discourage those who offer shared files or printed models. I'm sure all of you Western afficionados would relish the opportunity to bring an outlaw to justice (peacefully, of course!).
