Calamity Jane

Martha Jane Canary, a.k.a. Calamity Jane was no shrinking daisy. She worked variously as a wagon driver, Indian fighter, and performer in Buffalo Bill's Wild West show. She knew renowned frontiersmen, including Wild Bill Hickok who always denied that the two had ever been more than casual acquaintances, although she claimed to have given birth to his son.
